Mr. William Edward "Bill" Shanley age 92, of Starke passed away April 20, 2024 at HCA North Florida Hospital. Bill was born on April 2, 1932 in Gainesville to the late Edward Frank and Georgia (Allen) Shanley. Prior to retirement he worked as a parts manager for National Airlines and Pan American. Mr. Shanley was an Eagle Scout who enjoyed Gator football, tubing the Ichetucknee River, talking to others and watching Gunsmoke. He had an enormous love for his family and was a devout Christian. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Jane Matthews and George Shanley. Survivors are: the "love of his life" and wife of 70 years, Glenda (Crosby) Shanley of Starke; children, Kathy Shanley of Starke, Marcia Sentmanat of Starke, Patricia Shanley of Palm Coast; grandchildren, Herb Williams (Diana), Tony DeLapaz (Becky), Tori Ivey (Wayne), Amber Blake (Jimbo), Christine Quigley, and Eric Elmadani. Also left are several nieces, nephews, and nineteen great grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 27, 2024 from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at the DeWitt C. Jones Chapel of Jones-Gallagher Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow the fellowship time and begin at 2:00 pm.
