William "Bill" Linton Summerlin

Mr. William "Bill" Linton Summerlin age 82, of Starke passed away Monday, July 31, 2017 at Shands UF in Gainesville. He was born on Saturday, December 8, 1934 in Savannah, Georgia to the late William Linton Summerlin, Sr. and Carrie Ann (Thee) Summerlin. Mr. Summerlin was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served during the Korean War. He also graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Advertising. Residing in Starke for the last thirty years, Bill owned his own Insurance Agency and sold automobiles before retiring. Bill is survived by his wife of 34 years, Yvonne Summerlin of Starke; son, William "Ashley" Summerlin (Katherine) of Hendersonville, Tennessee; daughter, Cynthia Lee Berdan of Hendersonville, Tennessee; sister, June Connely of Florida; grandchildren, Megan Summerlin, Amanda Summerlin, Michael Summerlin, Brooke Summerlin, Bradley Burdan, Hayden Cole, and Grayson Cole; and great grandson, William Copper Lindsey. He also leaves behind numerous other family members and friends. A memorial service will be held 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 5, 2017 in the DeWitt C.
