William A. (Bill) Tabb, 92 of Jacksonville, FL passed away peacefully at his home with family by his side on February 13, 2022He was born in Browder, KY to Stella Mae Morton and Orbie Lee Tabb. Bill joined the Navy on July 31, 1951 and proudly served 20 years as a First Class Patternmaker where he was involved in such activities as building the brakes for the Monorail at the Disney Theme Parks. In 1955, while stationed in Key West, FL, he met the woman of his dreams at the Roller Skating Rink on Southard Street. In December of 1955, he married Shirley and they raised 4 children in their 66 years of marriage together.During his 20 years of Military service, he received numerous awards and recognition for his outstanding work. After retirement from the Navy in 1971, he worked for Florida Machine and Foundry and CTL where he drove a commercial carrier truck then became the dispatcher for 15 years prior to retirement.Bill was an avid NASCAR fan attending most of the races. He loved spending time with Terry and Jay Mock at Terrys garage while they worked on Terrys race car.He is preceded in Death by his Sister, Anna Joyce Young and brother Marvin Tabb.He is survived by his lovely wife of 66 years, Shirley J. Tabb, Son George K. Thorn ( Cindy ), Daughters Kathy Martin ( Herb ), Debra Tabb ( Gordi ) and Sharon Todd ( Greg ). 5 Grandchildren Jennifer Banks, Adrian Bradberry, Kyle Mills, Nicholas Warren and Spencer Martin. 9 Great Grandchildren Anne Madison, Avery, Kole, Hunter, Caden, Kyle Jr., Kyla, Arianna and Ashton. 1 sister Carolyn Hughes and numerous nieces and nephews.Memorial service will be on Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at 12:30 pm at the Jacksonville National Cemetery.Arrangements have been entrusted to George H.
