William J. Toruno, age 68, passed away peacefully on August 19, 2025, in Gainesville, Florida, due to natural causes. Born on December 3, 1956, in Managua, Nicaragua William dedicated over 30 years of his life to a fulfilling career in healthcare as a compassionate nurse. He was a proud veteran who served in the United States Army, with a defining moment in his life being the joyful reunion with his daughter, Victoria Farley, after his service.

William was known for his strong will and unwavering spirit, always following his instincts and convictions. He possessed a gentle heart, extending boundless love and support to his family and cherished friends. A passionate individual, he enjoyed hockey, cinema, trying new culinary delights, as well as baseball and football. His two dogs, Shiloh and Gracie, brought him much joy and companionship.

A man of deep faith, William embraced his Catholic beliefs with conviction, trusting in the divine path laid out for him. He was a dedicated father, brother, and mentor, impacting the lives of both his family and his peers in the medical profession with his kindness and expertise.

William is survived by his beloved daughter, Victoria Farley; his father, William Toruno; his mother, Teresa Toruno; his sisters, Cathy Toruno, Marta Hampton, and Vilma Canlon; and his brother, Jorge Toruno. He held a deep appreciation for the love and opportunities provided by his parents and cherished the memories created with his siblings, nephews, and nieces. He was especially grateful to his daughter for her patience and unwavering support throughout his health challenges.

Funeral services will be held in his honor on August 23, 2025, with a Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Faith Catholic Church at 1:00 PM. Visitation will take place on August 22, 2025, at Forest Meadows Funeral Home beginning at 5:00 PM, following a Family Viewing at 4:30 PM. Following the service, William will be cremated, with his disposition occurring at 620 E Nona St, Starke, Florida. In addition, the family extends an open invitation to join them for the inurnment on September 6, 2025, at 12:00PM at Forest Meadows Cemetery off of 39th Ave.
