Obituary

Yolanda Mae Hall, 76, of Jacksonville Florida passed away on December 23, 2024, with her family by her side. Yolanda was born June 24, 1948, in Jacksonville, Florida and had known her husband David since childhood. They were married on March 24, 1967, and the two were inseparable for almost 58 years. After starting a family, Yolanda felt led to be a homemaker, enjoying time spent with her children, Natalie, and Kevin.Yolanda was an active member of Kernan Boulevard Baptist Church. She served the Lord for many years in ministry and had a passion for children and reaching the community. After joining Southside Estates Baptist Church in May 1971 she felt the calling to work with the Girls in Action. She volunteered with Vacation Bible School and the Harvest Festival. And in the late 1970s she started as the Harvest Festival Coordinator. Later she became a 4-year-old Sunday School Teacher, and then the Vacation Bible School Director. She joined the staff of Southside Estates Baptist Church as Director of Preschool/Childrens Ministries in early 1992, where she served until her retirement in June 2017 at Kernan Boulevard Baptist Church. She spent a lifetime being a devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother as she cared for them. Yolanda created cherished memories, especially with her grandchildren. Yolandas favorite vacation spot was Gatlinburg TN and over the years the family spent many vacations in the Great Smoky Mountains. Yolanda even hiked Mount Le Conte with David and Kevin. Trips after Natalie and Kevin were grown, would include just she and David, girls trips with Natalie and her daughter, and trips with the entire family. Yolanda leaves behind her husband of fifty-seven years, David Wilburn Hall, their children Natalie (John) Bergeron, and Kevin (Laura) Hall. Four grandchildren: Noel Bergeron, Lyla Hall, Hunter Hall, and Skylar Hall. And her sister, Amanda Pearson. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews (who knew her as Aunt Sissy). Her family takes comfort knowing that when she left this world, she was ushered into eternity with our Lord, Jesus Christ. Christmas was a special time for her and this year she celebrated Jesus birth in heaven, and we will see her again, it is just a goodbye for now!Proverbs 31:28 "Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her."
