Yoo Shim Coleman

Mrs. Yoo Shim Coleman, Born September 20,1935,Mrs. Yoo Shim Coleman, 83, passed away peacefully on February 18, 2019 at NF Hospital with her family at her side. She had struggled with a long illness.Resident of Gainesville Florida since 1991 Member of Korean Baptist Church of Gainesville, Florida.Mrs. Coleman was a native of the Republic of Korea and lived through Japanese occupation of Korea and the Korean War (1950-53).She married and moved to the US and lived her life with her husband and 2 children mostly on military bases in the southeastern US.She and her husband, who retired from the US Army after 20 years had moved to Gainesville in 1991. She worked at various cosmetology stores in the area where she was well known to locals.Both her children graduated high school in NC and attended college.She lived with her husband of 57 years at the time of her passing.She was loved and will be greatly missed by her surviving family.Survived by herHusband, Richard Franklin Coleman, married 57 years. Son, Michael Coleman, Daughter, Micki Coleman Schanley, Grandchildren, Richard Schanley, Nicholas Schanley,Mitchell Schanley. Sister-in-law and husband, Herman and Judith Dooley.Graveside service February 21, 2019 at 12 noon.
