Zettia Hill Pierce, formerly of San Antonio, Texas and Jacksonville, Florida, passed away on Sunday morning 14 August 2016. She was a former retail manager and mother of four children. She is survived by her children, Andrew, Michael, Sarah, and Anna and four grandchildren Ashleigh, Jackson, Emily-Jo, and Anni. She was born in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, the third of ten children to the former Agnes Elnora Jett and Willard Thomas Hill. She was preceded in death by both parents and three siblings.She was a kind, energetic and positive influence on all who met her. Among her many accomplishments is the founding of the Illinois Miss U.S. Teen Pageant, an event that went on to become part of the national Miss U.S. Teen program. She loved travelling to Europe to visit her grandchildren, whose father was serving in the military. She readily shared her love of cooking knowledge. She opened and ran The Teddy Bear Shoppe in Jacksonville Beach for several years.She moved to San Antonio, Texas in 1990 and lived there until returning to Jacksonville in March 2015.She was a beloved mother, sister, friend, and wife.
